A leak says the Swedish government will cut its budget for protection of biodiversity in Swedish forests. That is really stupid. And doesn’t build very much confidence in the tax system. The message now is we’re raising taxes on stuff that is bad for the environment (i.e. energy, petrol, etc) but we’re not putting any money into re-building ecological capacities. Kind of a stiff deal.
Let’s hope the rumor isn’t true.
