What do we change?

I’m feeling a little better today. Still feeling cursed, but handling it better than yesterday.

I’ve finished reading Daniel Quinn’s "If They Give You Lined Paper, Write Sideways". He stresses that we have to alter the way we THINK before we can claim any long term success in changing our behavior. I find this a very good point. It seems that most of the eco-stuff we’re doing is done from our old, obsolete frame of thinking. I think it was Einstein who famously said that problems can’t be solved from the same level of consciousness that created them.

Quinn also cites Buckminster Fuller " You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." Same message as from Einstein.

So, where is that new model? Well, politicians, CEOs, academics and the like are very unlikely parents to new models. They respond to what the rest of us create.

My best guess is to look hard at what entrepreneurs are doing. At least a few of them are already working on "the new model", probably very unconsciously. A lot of them are still tinkering on the old model, and those we will have to ignore.
